The story behind Ramona Tipnis Jewellery

My search for unique yet discreet, well made, and easy to wear jewellery led me to hand making  my own jewellery. I wanted something that I could wear every day - to the office, for a night out, to a party and later to board meetings and parent-teacher meetings - without looking like I was trying too hard.

I took my first class in 2007 and I was hooked from day one! I became obsessed - I wanted to learn more and master my new found skills. In the following years I took many classes - I wanted to be as true as I could to traditional methods of making jewellery and I wanted to add colour and texture. I also found that silver was a beautiful medium to work with, it brought out the beauty of the semi-precious stones I was beginning to use.

I soon graduated from making jewellery for myself to making jewellery for family and friends and they loved the gifts. I realised I was happiest when I was at my jewellery bench, working with sterling silver sheet, wire and semi-precious gem stones, bringing my ideas to life. I loved how versatile silver was, it was easily malleable in the making process and yet extremely sturdy as a finished product.

Today, I work from my workshop in rural Buckinghamshire. I am still true to my starting tenants of beautiful sterling silver jewellery, hand made using traditional methods whilst often incorporating colour and texture. Every piece of my jewellery is hand made making it unique to you. My larger pieces are hallmarked by the London Assay Office, which offers a more complete and beautiful hallmarking service, incorporating the year of manufacture as well.

I hope you have enjoyed browsing my website and have found some beauty amongst my designs. I would be honoured if you chose to buy something, but I’d be just as happy if you simply enjoyed taking a look around.

My jewellery comes wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, placed in grey kraft boxes.

Drop me a line if something that caught your eye and you’d like to tweak it a bit to make it truly personal to you.
